“Sock monkeys was great – reignited my creative passion. I’m now addicted and will have made a whole colony soon”. So said newly entranced sock monkey maker Lois after the February workshop.

Equally excited and just as delightful was the Blissed Out with Buttons group which happily lived up to the workshop name. Do admire the little heart hangings and bracelets. We will do our best to feed button cravings through not one, but two buttons workshops this summer!

Rubbish Revamped Out & About

Manchester Youth Volunteer Project and Reach Out Manchester asked Rubbish Revamped to run junkmail jewellery workshops for their school mentoring scheme, running with an ethical fashion theme. Old calendars, magazines covers and even a sheet from the Beano were sliced, rolled
and varnished into stylish bracelets.

More junkmail jewellery will be served at a private birthday party and for members of Start in Salford this month. The April Rubbish Revamped junkmail jewellery workshop is full but there are places on the 27 May session.

From stylish jewellery-making to getting our hands dirty: Norris Bank School have asked for a Rubbish Revamped in the Garden style
workshop for their Growing Veg day this March. We'll be making Upside Down Tomato Planters and folding newspaper into seed sowing pots.

Rubbish Revamped 'in-house' workshops

All March and April workshops are now booked up and we're looking forward to seeing those of you coming to Folksy Hangings, Easter Bunnies, Junkmail Jewellery and Jumper Monkeys.

All booked up and nowhere to go? If you find that your desired workshop is full and you simply can't wait for it to reappear in a future programme, feel free to gather a group of friends for your very own Rubbish Revamped event (minimum five people). Email me at rubbishrevamped@googlemail.com to discuss your interests.

The new programme for May to July 2010 is ready to fly the nest and bookings for these will shortly be possible online. Do take a look at the programme and feel free to make email reservations.

Best wishes,
Danielle

Holy cow - my sock monkey is broken!

Have you visited the Rubbish Revamped blog yet? Whilst the website offers all the 'official' info, the blog holds the photo gallery and pictures from workshops.

Like the website, the blog appears in search engines like Google. The most common search term that brings people to Rubbish Revamped's websites is probably 'sock monster'.
One day in mid February someone queried "how to make a cow draught excluder". Sorry, only made a snake draught excluder so far. Later that same day, some poor soul typed in "broken sock monkey". Sorry again, there's no sock monkey first aid tips on the website (yet...).
