November 2009

Welcome to Rubbish Revamped's November newsletter. There's lots of exciting festive workshops coming up from the end of November, as well as other non-festively fun workshops before then.

Coming up in November and December

Want to make a crazy sock monster, cuddly jumper monkey or rustle up some junkmail jewellery? Now's the time! Find out more from these links and book your place.

Festive wrappings and decorations

We're not moaning minnies when it comes to Christmas. We love it - the eating, drinking, presents and of course dressing the house up. Enjoy getting ready for the festive season with one (or all!) of our special workshops.

We're kicking off with a Sunday special on 29 November (10.30 - 2.30):
Oh Come All Ye Crafters: Revamped wrappings and giant baubles. As you'll see if you follow the link, we've got zillions of amazing and original ideas for wrapping your presents, as well as a unique take on the Christmas bauble that you can make from old cards or food packaging.

This is followed by two Saturday guest workshops. Local artist Becky Waite's guest workshop will show us how to make baubles from old bottles of pop, and textile artist Liz Cooksey will be making Wacky Wire Fairies to perch on your tree (photos to come).

Back on the usual Thursday evening, From Random Rubbish to Festive Hangings invites you to make card hangings so gorgeous you'll want to keep them up all year round.

Sorry if you missed it ...

Here's a couple of photos from recent workshops.

Planning for the new year

We're already planning activities from January for you to revamp rubbish into useful and beautiful crafts. New sessions will include a 'clear up your clutter' tin can system, woven wall hangings and making a magnetic noticeboard. Do let us know what you'd like to see on the programme - whether it's one of the old favourites (have a look at past workshops) or something completely new.

DIY Rubbish Revamping

This November we have a new 'How to' in Community Index, Chorlton & Whalley Range's free magazine. Carol shows you how to make a mini gift box from a magazine page.
For those who don't get it through the door, it can be downloaded from the Community Index website. Or look out for a copy at Unicorn Grocery store.
