Rags to brooches!

You'll enjoy experimenting with layering different sorts of materials to produce beautiful floral brooches. You'll be able to make two - maybe three - different multi-layered petal brooches, using a range of templates or even making up your own shape. They look fantastic as brooches or accessorised onto a bag or hat.

We'll also have a play around with 'trapping' items such as bits of material, netting and pictures in laminate to produce some unique-looking jewellery.

Can you guess what the different brooches are made from? Run the mouse over each picture to see if you get it right. What might you include?

sweet wrapper, old shirt, torn skirt, buttons Laundry bottle, laminated magazine page, garlic netting, felt, buttons

Christmas card and gold thread trapped in laminate, sweet wrapper, felt, laundry bottle                   felt, material remnants, button

card, plastic bag, broken necklace, sweet wrapper Plastic bottle, button, J-cloth, food netting, bottle cap, left-over wrapping paper

What a great opportunity to use up a mix of material remnants, worn out clothes, old buttons and even sweet wrappers and used plastic bottles.
